anxiety is a few stones
slip-cast ceramic stones exploring anxiety as smaller, more manageable forms.

this work continues a project i made two years earlier, anxiety is a heavy stone. back then, anxiety felt like a single unmoving weight — one stone the waves could never wash away.
when i revisited the idea last year, i realized that the stone had changed. my anxiety was no longer one heavy object. it had separated into several smaller ones. the weight didn’t grow; it simply shifted. these stones, once overwhelming, now feel more manageable. they support each other instead of crushing me. i’ve learned how to place them, how to live with them, and how to let them exist without resistance.
i used slip casting partly because this piece was made in a mold-making ceramics course, but also because the technique unexpectedly matched the concept. the repetitive process of casting feels like the way my anxiety divides itself, multiplying, softening, becoming a series of quieter shapes. the smooth, consistent forms create a shared visual language that fits how these emotions now exist in me.
at first, i planned for the stones to remain separate and stackable. but as the forms developed, it felt more honest for them to fuse into one structure, a calm system that holds itself together.
這件作品延續了我兩年前的作品 anxiety is a heavy stone。
